Wega Macchine per Caffè is renewing its line of catalogues for their range of professional espresso coffee machines and branded accessory products.
Keeping in line with the brand’s new coordinated image, the catalogues develop the concept WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WEGA, redefining the product information contained therein to portray the label’s unmistakable personality and help improve consultation. The new graphic is essential and has a high impact, revealing an urban style that can best sum up the wide array of solutions offered by Wega and the international aspect of the brand, which is present in 130 countries around the world.
This restyling enhances the top products and highlights the new entries in the range, bringing together a focus on appealing and modern shapes, the highest technical performance and a green attitude against a complete background, developed to guide businesses in their choice of the perfect Wega product.
By diving into the product world of Wega, in the paper or digital version, you can admire the exclusive finishing on the new Polaris, which has been at the center of a surprising restyling that plays on an aerodynamic and futuristic shape with emphasis on a particular led light display on the side panel. Furthermore, you can study the range of solutions offered by Wega for the intelligent and ecological care and maintenance of your own professional machine and grinder/measurer, with products from the Optimum Coffee Treatment line.
Wega catalogues can be consulted and downloaded in PDF format from the company’s official website at Wega.it.
Wonderful Extraction. Great Atmosphere. Wega means great Italian technology in the service of espresso, but it is also a unique way to experience and interpret coffee. Because the true coffee experience is a question of style as well.

The world final for the Costa Barista of the Year competition, sponsored by Astoria, took place last October 21st along the banks of the river Thames, in a chic location in the English capital called Vinopolis.
The competition was promoted by Costa to reward their own best barista on a global level in terms of technical skill and creativity. The crown went to a 25-year-old barista from the UAE called Prakash Rai, who, along with seven others was required to prepare a technically perfect coffee and demonstrate their knowledge in this field to an evaluating committee.
The panel of judges – made up of a technical section and a sensory one, included notable names such as Gennaro Pelliccia, Costa’s Master of Coffee, as well as chef Phil Vickery and the journalist Rose Prince.
“By sponsoring the Barista of the Year event Astoria has confirmed the mutual sense of purpose that binds Astoria and Costa in the promotion of quality coffee,” confirms Export Manager and Key Accounts Manager for Astoria Flavio Urizzi. “Technical perfection and passion for the product are at the heart of a common mission: rethink espresso every day in order to give coffee lovers all over the world an incomparable sensory experience”.
Astoria has been tied to Costa through 30 years of collaboration, during which it has put its know-how to use on personalized technical solutions, with the goal of meeting the specific demands of consumers. 2013 saw the official introduction of the Vintage machine, which will be progressively integrated in all the projects for “Costa franchising” and “trade operations” in the world during 2014. This is an important step in the innovation process that links Astoria and Costa. The Vintage model has been enjoying remarkable success and positive feedback, especially when it comes to aesthetics and functionality.
Astoria is promoting quality coffee in association with Slow Food and Università di Pollenzo during the Salone del Gusto e Terra Madre trade fair scheduled from October 23rd to the 27th, 2014 at the Lingotto Fiere complex in Turin.
Astoria espresso coffee machines are featured at the cafeteria in the fairgrounds that will be hosting the Slow Food Presidia; they represent a savvy coffee culture and guarantee the proper tasting procedure for each variety participating in the safeguarding project.
The “Slow Food Presidium coffee” brand aims to promote the quality of the product as well as sustainability, by favoring transparency in the manufacturing process in order to support equitable pricing logic. They also strive to protect biodiversity while countering a trend towards homogenization and exploitation. These priorities are sustained wholeheartedly by the company from Susegana, a top producer of quality espresso machines that has always been committed to sustainability and consumer trust.
Astoria’s green philosophy is also expressed through the strategic partnership with Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo, an establishment that is committed to the enrichment of food products and which offers an educational curriculum that’s unique in the world. The collaboration is guided by the dual values of science and ethics, which have been applied to improve the sensory experience but also to insure more responsible resource management. The mission also embraces the role of coffee roasters and buyers, who are called upon to distinguish the intrinsic qualities of a product through an increasingly careful evaluation process.
All coffee at Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2014 is prepared by Astoria, who have provided their professional machines (along with passion and experience) to ensure that Slow Food Presidia coffees can be enjoyed and appreciated to the fullest.
The goal of the project is to involve the coffee roasters in a safeguarding logic, a concept which already exists as the base for other specific experiences. The collaboration between Astoria and the Slow Food foundation is also interested in the education and preparation that goes in to a proper tasting. Naturally, machine maintenance and water treatment are also fundamental factors to consider before a valid sensorial experience. On the last day of the Salone del Gusto, Monday, October 27th, Astoria is dedicating a workshop to this very theme.
